With the AXIS T8129 PoE extender, Axis network video products that are more than 100 meters apart can be installed. When AXIS T8129 is connected with an additional 100 m of cable, Ethernet and PoE can be extended to 200 m, 300 m or even greater distances, depending on the camera model and power supply.
AXIS T8129 PoE extender is compatible with all Axis network video products that support PoE. The distance range depends on the required power, so a PTZ dome camera can be placed 200 m away with a single AXIS T8129 PoE extender. The cable length for an ordinary network camera that requires 5 W can be extended to 400 m (1312.3 ft) by placing three AXIS T8129 at 100 m (328.1 ft) intervals.
AXIS T8129 does not require any additional power supply. The connected network camera is powered by a single PoE switch or midspan, simplifying installation. AXIS T8129 has two Ethernet ports, both auto-configured for link speed, duplex and crossover, maintaining full network throughput.
